Back cover: In the spring of 2002, the Israeli government began construction in the occupied West Bank on a barrier and a wall stretching over 650 kilometers. This gigantic project was scheduled for completion in 2007. For the State of Israel, this "security barrier" was intended to prevent Palestinian terrorists from entering its territory. For the Palestinians, this "separation wall," which effectively annexes a substantial part of their future state to Israel, is a new border imposed by force. Is the wall in Palestine a means of combating terrorism or a barrier to peace?
